As Industry 4.0 is settling in and digitization is becoming an ever growing reality, there is one skill that is being touted as the most significant one that leaders & teams must have, to be able to staying relevant. This skill is the ability to be learnable. Closely linked with agility, learnability is the ability to mould oneself, build on previous experience or adapt to novel situations. The 3 elements of learnability are to build learning organizations, learning teams and learning individuals. While the learning journey doesn’t happen in silos but the environment and context plays a crucial role in allowing learning to happen. Organizations need to re-invent themselves in the new business context, leaders need to learn new skills to deal with emerging people concerns and individuals need to build their competencies to have talent relevance and talent mobility.
